The News
Welcome to our website.
We are The Metatrons, a fuzzy riot-pop band from Hitchin in the UK.
We've been described as "Delectable skewed fuzz-pop". Another nice reviewer said "think Blondie meets Sonic Youth via My Bloody Valentine...sharp pop over a scorched earth backing..." We've also been called "a thunderous slice of majestic pop" - as you can probably imagine all these things please us.
So what and who are we? We are Polly, who sings and plays the piano, Rico who plays the bass guitar, Simon who plays the guitar and Steve who goes bang bang on the drums.
Here we will tell you about gigs that you can come and see us play, records that we have made and are making and other things that may or may not be of interest to you, such as cat-related stories, or how busy the supermarket was today.
We have four albums - "Lumination", released in 2023, "Deconstruction" (2020), "Patterns of Chaos" (2016) and "Between Planets" (2011)

We are halfway through our run of shows with Tim Holehouse and The Escape Ghosts and it's been brilliant fun so far! Very much looking forward to POCO LOCO in CHATHAM this Friday 8th March and THE SUSSEX ARMS in TUNBRIDGE WELLS on Saturday!

NEW SHOW!
We are delighted to be playing a hometown show at Hitchin Football Club on April 5th with Cold Caller and River Bodies (both from Herts and both absolutely rockin') and even better it's an all ages gig (providing the under 18s have an *ahem* "adult" with them) hooray!

So....another years' worth of gigs done! A new album recorded and released and lots of summer festivals played. Not too shabby. We are currently rehearsing to bring you some new and old songs for our spring 2024 dates, to be announced very soon.....

We've had a brilliant summer, from our album launch parties in June and all the way through the festival season. Thanks so much to everyone who came to see us and bought our new album!

NEW ALBUM DETAILS!
We are delighted to tell you that our new album "LUMINATION" will be released through CHAPTER 22 RECORDS and distributed by CARGO RECORDS on FRIDAY JUNE 16TH 2023.
The album will be available from all good record shops, our BANDCAMP and downloadable from Apple Music and Amazon Music.
The pre-order for the album starts on May 16th via the Chapter 22 Records website, where you'll find exclusive bundles with the new album and lots of new merch.

We are honoured to be playing at YOU'RE ALL WEIRD - A CELEBRATION OF MARK ASTRONAUT over the weekend of 19-20th November at CLUB 85, HITCHIN. The two-day event features many bands who were associated with Mark so there will be some fun collaborations and some great memories shared. 'TRONS ON THE TELLY!
We are delighted to tell you that we will be featuring on a new music programme on actual real television - the fabulous NUB TV show on Thursday 29th September from 9pm (Sky channel 186)!
As well as music the show has very interesting looking guests and covers all sorts of weird/wonderful topics!
The NUB TV series will soon be available on Amazon Prime/Apple TV etc as well in the near future.
So...as they used to say...do tune in! X

Sadly the Bedford Esquires show on October 24th is to be postponed but we hope for a new date soon and your ticket provider should be in touch for your refund.
In other better news there now a few more tickets available for the 23rd October show at LePub in Newport with The Darling Buds due to a few returns. Link for tickets on the GIGS page.

Unfortunately, due to a case of Covid and subsequent isolation period, The Darling Buds show this Saturday is having to be postponed. The good news is that we already have a new date and it will be going ahead on Saturday 23rd October. All tickets are still valid. If you can't make the new date, refunds are available.
